It just hit me that next week the tees change on the second hole. That may have been my last chance to drive the second green until the fall.

Round Recap

If you haven't made it out this season, you're really missing out. Scottie and the gang have the course in great shape. My only real complaint was the humidity brought along way too many bugs, but Scottie can't do anything about that.

Rules Corner

For those wondering what a Handicap Allowance is and how it is used, the USGA posted a great Reel on Instagram this week explaining the basics:

A clarification was posted at the beginning of this year about how to apply Handicap Allowances in Four-Ball Match Play, which you might have missed in the video if you weren't playing close enough attention. First you determine the unrounded Course Handicap for all players, subtract the lowest Index, apply the Allowance to the unrounded numbers then round to the nearest integer. In the past, the allowance and rounding were done before determining the differences. Since every match will have its own calculation, we won't be able to provide a Handicap Sheet for the Four-Ball going forward.

If there's a rules question you would like to see discussed here, please email the Webmaster at webmaster@thesaxonclub.com.
