We had a light crowd this week and we crowned our last champion of the season.
The rain showed up earlier than expected yesterday. A lot of use were expecting a dry day on the course, but a light rain appeared after 4 holes of play.
I rolled in 3 birdies this week, matching the 3 I made last week. The first one came on the 8th hole, after I pulled a drive over to the 13th fairway. The next was on 10, set up by a great drive and a solid approach shot. The final bidie came on 15 after another big drive and a pin high wedge shot into the green.
We're not going to focus on the other holes this week. After a question about the SaXon Cup finals (more below), I decided to compare this week to last week, and if I took the better hole score from each week, I would have shot a gross 70. Things like that will drive you mad if you spend too much time thinking about it.
Back to ContentsThe SaXon Cup finals were changed this season to a best of 2 rounds format. The better net total round from october 4 and October 11 would be used as the score for the finals.
Paul Ficalora set the low mark last week, with an adjusted net score of 70.70. Only 6 of our 12 finalists played this week, and nobody was able to better their score from last week. Congrats to Paul, who wins the SaXon Cup for the second time in his club career.
