From what I've heard, the tees are moving on the second hole and everyone's favorite Par 3 next to a pool goes away until next summer.
Yesterday marked 23 years since we lost member John Dohrety in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. In 2021, I asked Ron Sanossian to write something for the website. You can review that here: IN MEMORIAM - JOHN J. DOHERTY
The Saxon Cup Playoffs kicked off over the weekend. Last Saturday was the first of 3 playoff rounds that will determine the final 12 who will vie for the SaXon Cup on September 28. The two best (net-stroke play) rounds from September 7, 14, and 21 will be used to determine playoff points, and those get combined with regular season points to determine the starting point for the final. Similar to the FedEx Cup, finalists will receive additional handicap strokes for the last round, so everyone has a chance to win.
Back to ContentsRegistration for Closing Day is now open. Members have until September 29 to sign up for the event. The format is to be determined, but expect some sort of team play.
Back to ContentsThe weekly for the weekend past was N.O.S.E and T and F. Rob Herschenfeld won the N.O.S.E. holes with a Stableford score of 23. Tom Gramolini won the T and F holes on a tiebreaker, beating out Jim Andruss and Brian Gramolini (see, I'm fair). All three had a 21 on the selected holes, but Tom had the better score on the last 9 holes of the round.
The spreadsheet below includes all of the scores and results from this season. As a reminder, only hole-by-hole scores posted for the date played are included in the results. Players not posting using the hole-by-hole method or not posting by the end of the day on Saturday are not eligible for weeklies or Saxon Cup points.
This week we start the last rotation of the season with Front Nine/Back Nine. Best (net) Stableford score on the nine selected holes will win Pro Shop credit. You can only win once each week.
Back to ContentsThe current forecast shows mostly sunny weather for Saturday with highs in the 80s by midday. There may be areas of fog early in the morning, so be prepared (and drive safely).
