Summer Play Starts

Let's Play Golf

Current News & Conditions

It Must be Summer if #2 is a Par 3.
That's pretty much the only way we can tell.  Even though next week is June the early groups went off under a 65' overcast.  For most of us the sun didn't come until late in the back nine. Anybody used SPF on a Saturday yet?

Did you notice how well marked the course is?  Yardage painted on the second tee, hazard line/stakes along just about every tree line, drop zones right where you need them.  The greens are hand cut! Feels like we've moved up a level in course quality.  Scotty's greenskeppers are just getting better every week as are Charlie and Mike.  I don't need a another pair of shoes, but I'm tempted everytime I pass that pyramid of boxes outside.  Just so inviting.

The week ahead promises some summer warmth and dry days - I'm looking for country club conditions next week.  Can hardly wait.

The survey of the Front Nine for re-rating the holes got 13 responses last week.  So I'm going to leave it up for a while.  Hopefully we'll collect a couple more replies and then finalize results.  If you haven't chimed in yet - hop to the next section and get to it.

Hole Rankings: The Front

What's Your Nemesis

Last week I posted a survey of the front nine to collect your input and rank the holes.  You had a chance to rank each hole and there were three "tie-breaker" questions for cases where voting was close.  We collected 13 responses and some interesting conclusions.

We all agree on the easiest holes (1, 4) and the most difficult ones (5, 6).  In between those bookends is room for discussion - results were so close that one vote could move a hole several spots.  Holes 7, 8 and 9 were almost interchangeable as were holes 2 and 3.  So if polls are to be believed here's the new front:    5 - 6 - 3 - 2 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 1 - 4
